Our
Facility is located on an 18 acre farmstead in East
Central North Dakota. We are only 30 minutes from
Fargo, or Grand Forks.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

The Building
The
building is actually a 20 X 30 Room inside of an
insulated 40 X 60 building. The room is well
insulated, and climate
controlled, and made to be like a nursery in the
home. This gives all the dogs, the life of house
dogs, without trashing our house with accidents, and
pet hair. They have 3 rooms
(or runs) indoors. Two of the rooms have doggie door
access to the outdoor playpen.
This room
is nicer than some of the rooms in my house. They
couldn't get much closer to living in the house, and
they get to avoid much of the discipline of a
housedog. Only an unstable person, would have
this many dogs in their house. As much as we love
our critters, we don't feel it's healthy to
have more animals than people, in your personal
living space. I spend a lot of time in this room,
and could easily live in it, if I needed to. It is
very clean, and comfortable.
Throughout the photos you will notice several tubs.
We never store anything in bags, or boxes.
Regardless of the contents, bags and boxes draw
rodents. Sealed containers prevent rodents. Any facility that has rodents can have
serious health issues for both the puppies, and
their parents.
------------------------------------------------------

The Rooms
There are
three 8' x 5' rooms. The run walls are laminate.
They were actually a retail store display at one
time. They are slatted for extra air flow. The slats
are where the sample boards used to hang. A perfect
way to recycle, what would have been, a land fill
item.

(The
nursery room doesn't currently have a doggy door.
One will be added this spring.)
----------------------------------------------------------------

Quarantine Area
This area
is for sick animals, or evaluation of rescue
animals. 7 stainless steel cages, for easy
sterilizing, and separation. It is also a temporary
area for each dog to rest during the cold months,
while the floors are being mopped.
---------------------------------------------------------

Indoor Play Area
In the
winter, our dogs need to play inside. This room
provides lots of room for playing! Just slide the
panels off the front of the rooms, and they are
running loose.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Outdoor Playpen
The
outdoor pen is 30 X 60. It is complete with Dog
Houses, and Carpeted sun porches for lounging. To
keep them entertained, we set up obstacles such as
ramps and tunnels. They are changed often to prevent
boredom.
Note:
This photo was taken 2½
years ago. I have only posted it to show the size of
the playpen. The fence has been updated, and more
furniture is now in the area. An updated photo of
this area will be added after the snow melts.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Office/Examination Area
We are
fully set up to maintain the health and well being
of our dogs. We also give our own booster shots, and
dewormings. Most of our dogs have to be bred by
artificial insemination, since the daddy's are to
small to reach the mommy's.
Having a separate office for the dogs,
helps us keep all records organized for easy access,
if you should have questions later on.
------------------------------------------------------------------

Photo Studio
Every
good breeder knows the importance of quality photos.
We strive to insure that you have a photographic,
and video,
record of your new baby, from birth, to pick-up.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Food Storage
Keeping
food fresh, dry, and rodent free is important as
well. We store all food in flip top garbage cans. A
cheap, clean, and easy way to store food.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Decor
The room
is decorated with photos and drawings of the current
dogs, some of their previous puppies, and dogs who have
passed on. They also have their papers and
pedigrees, framed and on display, above their rooms.
They are a proud group, as they should be.

Upgrades for Spring 2011
These are the remaining projects, that
we hope to start in the spring.
-
The
floor has been painted - but floor paint doesn't
seem to be holding up well against dog claws, or
staining. I expected much more from heavy duty
garage paint. I
would like to get an epoxy floor done this
summer.
-
Plumbing will hopefully be hooked up. We are adding a
sink, tankless water heater, and washer/dryer.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you
for checking out our facility. Visitors are always
welcome, by appointment only. If you are considering
one of our puppies, we hope you will come and see
your new babies' birthplace in person. |
